CHAIN HOISTS

Chain hoists for daily use in workstations require robustness, durability, reliability, and low maintenance. The ABUCompact electric chain hoist from ABUS offers a choice of capacities up to 4 tons (SWL) with ABUS’s renowned high-quality construction. Its modular design allows for a wide range of lifting speeds, up to 20 meters/min, for lifts up to 50 meters.

Precise lifting, a slip clutch for safety, and quick-change plug-in connectors are all standard equipment, as is the GM2, GM4, and GM6 models’ robust, direct control system.

Chain Hoist ABUCompact GMC

A standard 230 volt supply is sufficient to power the ABUCompact GMC. The GMC is ideal for mobile applications due to its light weight. The GMC is available as a single or double chain hoist with a maximum lifting capacity of 125 kg / 250 kg. The lifting speed is continuously adjustable and the maximum lifting distance is approximately 20 m / 10 m respectively.

Chain Hoist

Chain Hoist ABUCompact GM2

The ABUCompact GM2 is available in both single and double chain versions, with a maximum lifting capacity of 320kg / 630kg, a maximum lifting distance of approximately 32m / 16m respectively, and a range of lifting speeds to suit the hoist’s load capacity.

Chain Hoist

Chain Hoist ABUCompact GM4

The ABUCompact GM4 is available in both single and double chain versions, capable of lifting loads up to 630 kg / 1.25 t, with maximum lifting distances of approximately 50 m / 25 m respectively, and with a range of lifting speeds to suit the hoist’s load capacity.

Chain Hoist ABUCompact GM6

The ABUCompact GM6 is available in both single and double chain versions, with a maximum lifting capacity of 1.25t/2.5t, a maximum lifting distance of approximately 35m/17.5m respectively, and a range of lifting speeds to suit the hoist’s load capacity.

Chain Hoist ABUCompact GM8

The ABUCompact GM8 is available in both single and double chain versions, with lifting capacities up to 2 tonnes / 4 tonnes, maximum lift travel of approximately 32 meters / 16 meters respectively, and a range of lifting speeds to suit the load capacity of the hoist. The ABUCompact GM8 also comes standard with a 48 volt electronic control system.

The electric chain hoist is controlled via a pendant control unit with a cable, making it ready to use as soon as you plug it in. Your electric chain hoist comes with high-strength galvanized chain with a chain storage container, removable hinged suspension legs, and a slipping clutch overload protection system that can be adjusted without removing the hoist (for GM 2/4/6/8 models).

Standard equipment includes a slipping clutch for reliable overload protection with minimal wear. Easy-to-install plug-in connectors with a fail-safe rotating locking system ensure quick and convenient electrical connections. This specially hardened and galvanized chain is designed with a steel profile, providing a 25% higher load capacity than conventional round steel chain hoists, enhancing safety and extending service life.

The smallest GMC hoist (230V) with electronic control system utilizes a continuously variable frequency drive for lifting loads.

The GM 2/4/6/8 electric chain hoist features a contactor control system using semiconductor technology, providing low-voltage control at 48V. All four models operate at 380-415V/50Hz, but special voltages can be ordered upon request.

In addition to the five main models of electric chain hoists, they offer a wide range of lifting speeds, load capacities, and lifting distances. Electric chain hoists can be used in single-fall or twin-fall chain hoists.

In single-fall chain hoists, the chain runs directly from the lifting unit to the hook, while in twin-fall chain hoists, the pulley is located on the bottom block. The chain then runs back to the hoist and is fixed there. This principle of block and tackle doubles the maximum load capacity while halving the lifting speed.

Electric chain hoists can be moved by a manual push trolley or an electric trolley on an I-beam track. Our trolley flange widths range from 42 to 400 mm and can be customized to suit your needs. If more than one chain hoist is running on the same track, a special buffer is installed to prevent collisions. A clamping buffer is also installed at the end of the track to limit the trolley’s travel distance.

Electric chain hoists come standard with a radio remote control with a control range of up to 50 meters. If the electric chain hoist and trolley are equipped with a radio remote control, an electric cross-type limit switch is also installed, which automatically stops the trolley when it reaches the end of the work area.

For production areas requiring maximum safety, a safety load hook is available that prevents accidental release. When the load hook is under tension, it automatically locks and opens only when the release button is pressed when there is no tension.

An electronic hoist position limit switch provides an additional level of safety, with independent settings for the maximum and minimum hook positions. This can be done through a setting button on the pendant control unit, or if desired, it can be installed as a separate unit for dedicated maintenance.

For the transport of fragile goods, we recommend our ABULiner frequency converter, which provides smooth lifting and continuously adjustable speeds, greatly facilitating precise positioning during assembly and connection processes.

Furthermore, for convenient connection of accessories under the hook, we can equip the electric hoist with a 5-pin power plug (3/N/PE), which facilitates powering additional devices such as vacuum systems.

ABUS electric chain hoists offer numerous advantages: they are characterized by ease of use, high utilization rates, light weight, and high load capacity. Furthermore, these lifting devices are robust, reliable, and easy to maintain.

All electric chain hoists are manufactured and tested in accordance with European standards, regulations, and requirements. They are subject to periodic inspections as required by the LOLER (Lifting Safety Regulations) and require regular maintenance. We offer LOLER inspections and hoist maintenance services, so you can benefit from ABUS’s extended 4-year warranty. Contact our office for more information.

The ABUCompact chain hoist series is designed for easy maintenance. When maintenance is required, such as replacing worn chains, simply loosening a few screws allows the chain and guide assembly to be quickly and conveniently removed and replaced with a new one.
