Electric wire rope hoists are the most commonly used hoists for overhead traveling cranes. ABUS’s single-wheel E-type hoists are ideal for lifting loads of 1 ton or more, featuring a compact design and space-saving installation dimensions. D or Z-type double-wheel hoists are used for extra-heavy lifting applications, up to 120 tons, such as in large printing production lines or where precision and smooth lifting are required, even with long hook distances. These hoists are equipped with more sophisticated electrical control systems to suit each crane’s specific application.

With ABUS’s electric wire rope hoists, you can choose from a wide range of models, depending on your needs, including lifting capacity, hoist size, and lifting range. We offer standard E-type hoists (capacity up to 16 tons), U-type hoists with under-beam wheels (capacity up to 25 tons), side-mounted S-type hoists (capacity up to 10 tons), and D or Z-type double-wheel hoists (capacity up to 120 tons), which have higher load points.

The Z-type electric wire rope hoist with a capacity of up to 120 tonnes – the largest ABUS hoist – remains a standard product in our line-up, as are all other electric wire rope hoists.

Electric chain hoists are often used in conjunction with on-site cranes such as jib cranes, light mobile cranes (LPKs), or suspension systems (such as the ABUS HB system). They are a cost-effective option for lifting light loads ranging from 80 kilograms to 4 tons. Horizontal movement of materials can be accomplished either manually by pushing/pulling via a conventional trolley or by using a two-speed electric trolley.

Compared to electric wire rope hoists, electric chain hoists can also be mounted in a fixed position. They are ideal for single-location applications and can be mounted via the standard suspension bracket (with side opening) or by using a special hook, depending on the application.
